Woohoo!! So pleased with our win yesterday, I came off stage thinking we hadn't done enough, so the win made it a really enjoyable journey home.

Well done to all the bands, it was a good contest.

Excellent day but pemberton band lost their 'bongo. Drums, it could be that someone picked them up by mistake. Could i ask that the bands from the top section check to see if they have put them on their coach by mistake. If they are found please contact brian halliwell on 01942222156.

I heard Strata in the second section and they were really excellent. It was one of those rare occasions where the 20 minutes flew and I was left wanting at the end!

Championship Section:

1. Tredegar, I. Porthouse, 198
2. Pemberton Old Wigan JJB Band, M. Bentham, 195
3. Staines Brass, M. White, 194

Best soloist: Pemberton Old
Best Percussion: Tredegar

just saw this on 4barsrest anyone got the first section results?
From memory:

4. ?
5. Lydbrook, 187
6. Kidlington, 186
7. Cwmaman, 185
8. Northop, 181?
9. Hyde, 180?
10. United Co-op Milnrow, 178?

We were ticked off for overblowing in our opening number, but complimented fulsomely throughout the rest of the comments. Not dissatisfied with 6th in that field. Who was 4th? I've gone blank...

Tongwynlais would have been 4th.

Thanks Chris (and to Dave and everyone else who's contacted us or posted here).
We were a bit anxious about the time thing, especially when Mr Sparkes took the p*ss, so it was a very nice surprise!

Sorry we missed you guys - that's the downside of a pre-draw I guess.
It was a very good day for LSC in all the sections. :)

Many congratulations to both Friary and Staines. Great results, well done.
Thanks Dave, it's been sometime (other than the area) since Staines took the contest stage. It's been a slog, but a worthwhile slog and a great result at the end of it. Lets hope we can keep it going.

Brazilia - Trombone solo, Susan White
Zambezi
The Lord Bless you and keep you
Finale from Dances & Arias

Big well done to Friary Guildford and my old mucker Andy for getting the solo prize in the 1st section. Good day out for L&SC
