'World Premiere in Japan'


Osaka Harmony Brass Band will give the World Premiere of Darrol's Music For Osaka in their Autumn concert. The piece started life as a lecture in variation writing based on the pentatonic scale. Students asked if it was a test piece and when I told them these were just examples they encouraged me to actually make it into a test piece.

Music For Osaka is dedicated to Major Peter Parkes, staff and students at Barug Green Music Centre, Barnsley.
