World Brass Band Championships

Aperently there is a World BB Championships being organised. Is this a good thing? Who would go? There hasn't been anything organised here. No bands have been approached but we are still probably sending a band, either established or a "National Band".
I'd love to hear peoples thoughts on this thread.

The latest news is that either
i) NBCA make up a composit band or
ii) Australia Brass is going to represent us.

The Chicago Brass Band will be representing the U.S. as they won the most recent National Championship in April. (They don't want to take next years winner as that would not leave enough time to raise funds)
