Web Filters - I Don't Believe It!!!!

I've just posted for the first time since moving to my new home in Wellesbourne in Warwickshire, and on the left-hand side of that post (and this one, no doubt!) you can't see where I'm located cos five of the letters have been replaced by stars as those letters, taken by themselves, might be vaguely offensive to someone (who?!!!!!!). I realise that web filters are a good thing in general but, please, does anyone else think they go a bit far sometimes?

Just seen my own post and you can't read my town in the body of the text either. I'll have to change my details to "near Stratford"!!

It's a setting of the froum software, and I think there should be a way to solve this problem.
I'm pretty sure John will take care of it, once he sees this thread.

(btw, because of my limited geographical knowledge of the UK, I have no idea were you are living. but I'm getting curious now... ;) )

Hi Banana

Jan is right... just a tweak needed... well - as well as the actual name of your town. Forgive me but, can you type the name of the location - with spaces - please. I will set it up so that it then allows that placename.

Sorry for the inconvenience... I do try honest.

But it now handles Scunthorpe OK!

I wanna know the name (or rather the rude word) that it is picking up on now!

Could it be Wellesbourne, by chance?

Wellesbourne - there you go...!!! Might have to wait until the system updates threads later tonight for it to show in your thread.

Sorry for this issue.

I worked it out through a combination of geography (I get lost in lots of places) and figuring which five letters made a word that sounded like a placename. :)

I even got lost on my way to Bradford today - my GPS tried to tell me there was a roundabout where I could plainly see there was no such roundabout!

Hmm. Perhaps the aliens had stolen it.;)

This is very immature, but when I found out where it was you lived I found it hilarious. In fact I'm still laughing now. Oooh, the fun that can be had with filters...

Thanks for sorting that out, and I apologise that the rude bit wasn't a bit more exciting (I think that was my point to start with!). I really wish I lived in Scunthorpe now!!
