training bands Barnsley area

hi a friend of mine has a little girl learning cornet at school and wonders what training bands theire are in the Barnsley area.

Scisset youth have a big organisation, not too far at all from Barnsley, No idea who to contact tho.

The High Green community band have a big training band, just down the road from Barnsley but I can't remember any contact details - will try to dig them out...

Apparently we have a training band, although I've never seen or heard anything to prove it!! :shock:

Will look into when i get back to Sheffield in a couple of weeks.

Hi, Old Silkstone Band have a B band which has beginnners young and old, they have been formed just over 18mths and they practice on a Monday evening at the band room at the back of Silkstone Lodge, Silkstone, Barnsley.

If this is any good you can contact myself or Wayne Bostwick on 01226 202141.

They are holding a concert at Silkstone Lodge tonight(Fri 9th April), may be a good opprtunity to see the band and find out if it would be suitable.
