I heard 10 once... was depping for a band, got drunk before the concert because the flugel player annoyed me, and proceeded to rip through the concert... however, the conductor was deaf in his right ear, and having heard a trombone for the first time in 20 years wanted MORE MORE MORE!!!

The trombone section was probably the cause of deafness in his right ear in the first place! :wink:

Woohoo nothing about euphoniums or baritones, just goes to show which is the best section in the band :D :D

More that you'll (mostly) never hear a conductor say:

'Sop, that was a cracking split! Do another one!' (I often did when playing sop, whether asked or not!)

'Baritones, your tuning has been exemplary all evening. Well done!'

'Could we have a little more vib on that, euph?'

'Sorry, guys, I ****ed up the beat, there.'

'The drinks are on me' (n.b. I know MRSH to be an honourable exception to that one! ;-)

No, but we got the same from an adjudicator (Alan Fernie) once, long ago:

"Sop, that was a cracking split note - if you're going to split them, you might as well do it properly!"

We hear this regularly in our band.

I used the quote because I thought better of posting 'We have nunber two regularly in our band@ :!: :wink:

I get 10 a lot in ... one of my bands ... by process of elimination you might be able to work out which one ... ;)
