Alan France, long time member of the brass band community, and father of Martyn France, MD of Watford Band.

On Thursday Alan suffered a major heart attack, his second in less than 12 months. Thanks to the quick actions of Alan's wife he is now out of intensive care at St. Mary's hospital in London.

Please could hold Alan and his family in your thoughts and prayers? Thanks.

Cheers, Greg.

Thanks to all of you who have upheld Alan in your thoughts and prayers. Alan underwent surgery yesterday which went according to plan. Alan is now back in intensive care recovering from the op; we hope his recovery is speedy.

We shall be praying for Alan and the family that the recovery will proceed satisfactorily. I'm sure he's in the best hands and will receive the care he needs.

I met Alan when he played with my old band for a little while and he's a super chap. I'm also good friends with Martyn and his wife, so all the best wishes to Alan and his family from me and my family and heres hoping for a speedy recovery.
