The Lochgelly Band a progressive and ambitious second section band require a quality solo trombone player and a quality euphonium player.

Lochgelly band are based in the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland and are celebrating their 150th anniversary this year. We are currently second section but plan to continue our recent success and challenge for the first section at next years area. We have a busy schedule of concerts, contests and other engagements planned for the remainder of this year and require commited players for these two important seats.

The Lochgelly Band - Scottish, 2nd Section

The Lochgelly Band welcome applications from all players.

We are a friendly second section band based in the Kingdom of Fife in Scotland. The band have enjoyed great success over the past few years, winning successive Scottish Championship titles in 2002 (4th Section) and 2003 (3rd Section). In order to progress in a very competitive 2nd section we are looking for quality players in ALL positions, but especially euph/bari and tutti cornets. The Lochgelly band are currently on the look out for quality cornet players to fill the repiano seat and/or front row. If you are interested then please pm me with a reply or email us on recruitment@lochgellyband.com

The band are currently in the 1st section and we rehearse on Tuesday and Friday nights at 7:30pm. The band are currently preparing for a busy contest and concert season including the FCBA Open, Borders Entertainment, Scottish Challenge Shield and of course the 2008 Scottish Championships.

The Lochgelly band have been one of the most successful bands in Scotland over the past decade. From the 4th section in 2002 to 3rd place in the Championship section in 2011 the band have shown continual improvement at all levels. We are an ambitious band and we are confident that our recent success will open up new opportunities in the coming months. We require dedicated individuals to help us achieve our aim of being one of the best bands in Scotland. Are you up to the challenge of playing at Championship level? Are you looking for a new challenge and want to test yourself against the best? We have immediate positions available for the right people on the solo cornet rank, trombone and percussion sections. As well as the Scottish Championships the bands recent contest success has resulted in invitations to the Spring Festival in Blackpool and the West Lothian Challenge contest. The band also intend to perform several concert engagements throughout the year.

The Lochgelly Band invite applications for the role of Resident Conductor.

Currently graded in the Championship section, we are seeking an enthusiastic and committed person to continue the progress the band has made in the last four years. The role will involve preparing the band for contest and concert work with opportunity to direct the band on stage too. The band currently rehearse on Wednesday and Sunday evenings.
