"The Championship"

Apparently the title of 'Not quite Premiership status, but will be for a season champions' was considered too wordy......

Obviously this title does not apply to this years winners of The Championship!

Perhaps they need to glam it up now the Canaries have flown!

ooo that'll make them into better teams...

so can we do the same in banding? Have a "Premier" section, then championship, then 1st, 2nd and 3rd? In fact if we can think of a good name for every division everyone will feel higher up...

Premership
Championship
Super League

hmm... can't think of any more quality marketable names...

... it might give the brass band scene a better picture of what each section is capable of! ;)

(note: this is purely for humour's sake and does not represent my opinion or the truth on section standards whatsoever - in case I offend anyone)

How about the "Wanabe League" (as in We want to be (wanabe) in the Premiership but aren't good enough)

This sounds suspiciously similar to some of the wishy-washy political correctness that's leaching into schools at the moment. The idea that no-one is allowed to lose and that everyone has to have a prize or a title.

Bringing into consideration the financial benefits of winning the Nationwide 1, maybe it could be renamed - "THE GOLD RUSH".

Hopefully we can hold on to Ian Harte - the quickest, fastest thinking left back in the country :? and Michael Dubbery - comfortable on the ball, great vision and distribution :? ...I am confident that 2nd division football is on the horizon

I got a mailer from LUFC the other day that made me laugh....plugging the fact they were rewarding their loyal fans by freezing season ticket prices......thanks Mr Chairman...1st division football at Premiership prices

Just think of those teams who have been in the bottom league for the past 12 years. They've gone from the 4th division to League 2 without winning anything!
