Scottish Open Announcement

Just been reading details of the inaugural Scottish Open. Looks as if they're trying one or two of the things that have been discussed recently - input from bands re test pieces and adjudicators, with the adjudicators being asked to suply an outline of their expectations to the bands beforehand. It will be interesting to see how it turns out :!:

Yeah it's good to see a contest that's willing to try new things. They might work, they might not, but at least they have been put into practice rather than just talking about what could be done.

Sounds good. Every band has been asked to select 3 peices and to send those choices to the organisers. If there is a consesus it will be that peice.

Last time I played it I was on 2nd bari but if it's chosen I'll be doing it on solo, doh!!

Lowry sounds like a class choice. I did it with NYBB a couple of years ago and uni band the other month. Top piece!
