Wow - what a surprise! I'm sure that Harrogate will love Bombasto. Did I really get the crankshaft question right? Surely not - I can't even wash a car never mind identify the engine bits...

I wasn't expecting the results just now - I'm up late finishing my piece for the Richardson Award so I hope that my good luck hasn't run out just yet...

D

PS should I reveal the name of the person who pm'd me asking for the answer to number 15????

I can't do it.... I can't bring myself to say it....

Oh, what the hell, well done you brainy you know what!

Note to other tMPers - PLEASE don't over congratulate him - we'll have to widen the bandroom doorway again and we'll never hear the end of it...bit like the enigmatic fashion guru thing again...

When my dad used to play for the variety circuit in Leicester, they used to say that "Volti" meant "turn over", and that "Volti Subito" meant there wasn't time to turn over!

Also, if ever there was a strange smell around, the cry would go up "There's a dead segue in the pit"

well, I must say that I was thrown by the Banders story saying that straightmute named his house after that testpiece!

And I was torn between Belmont Cottage (Ian Holmes) or 17 Belmont Drive (Roy Newsome) - Belmont being the National Finals piece, Roy Roe's Rienzi and Brian Buckley's Egmont. Needless to say I plumped for the wrong one!

Incidentally, our retired Songster Leader (choirmaster) has named his house Resurgam, if Roger wants to put that int he next quizz.

Congratulations David (sorry Rachel, had to do it, had to be gracious in defeat ;) ) and thanks to our boffin, Roger, for being the quizmaster.

I'm not thanking you for question 15 though - that was a bugger! ;)

My house is just called 208!

I shall start work on my test piece '208 for Band' as soon as I get home.

Great idea for a piece Neil!

Next time I won't try to do the quiz without resorting to Google or searching.

I wouldn't have a chance otherwise.
