preston contest 2004

whos going to preston contest in feb? were going and it be our 1st contest in the 2nd section for over 20 years ish, no doubt wire brass will be going to try and make the hat trick, good luck cya all there! what part is the 2nd section held in? is it in the big one where 1st/champ sections are held? hope so be good to play in there!

Flixton will be there... as to the hall I seem to remember the 2nd section being held in the same hall as the champ not completely sure though

We're going and I know that Tullis Russell band are coming down from Scotland to compete in 3rd section as well.

Not driving this year though. Had to get someone to drive my car back last year as I forgot I'd driven to the contest!! Oops.

I'll be there with flixton... got big concerts friday and saturday about 300 miles from preston, so i'm sure i'll be well up for it...

Staylybridge old will be there, does anyone know rule regarding playing in other bands across sections or same section and wether can do it or not, have seen it done in som scaba contests before i moved to manchester

You can play for two bands on the day at Preston provided one of them is the band you are registered for. I did this one year and drew number one and two :evil: Anyway, I'm pretty sure you can be borrowed by any band in the same section or higher sections, but not lower sections. Not sure on that though.
