Depends what you mean by 'another brass forum'. If you're referring specifically to 4br, I think it's been said here before that tMP isn't supposed to be a rival forum to it. Indeed, there's at least one regular contributor here who also contributes to 4br.

In any case, it doesn't hide the fact that tMP is one excellent brass forum!

Don't think there's anything on the planet that could beat the mighty brilliance of tMP!

One thing I do like about this site is the mix of players of different standards and from different countries. Not tilted towards one particular group....

I agree, I think it's brilliant that people like me in lower section bands are able to talk to higher and even championship section players and gain from their knowledge/experience. On tMP we're all one group instead of being divided by ability.
And apart from anything else, it's just good to talk to people who share a common passion for Brass Banding.
And how else would you lot have heard of Emley Band for instance???

Does anyone actually know of another brass forum on the net? I think the bandsman used to have one (and may still) but it in no way came close to this.

There is the Brass Band Mailing List operated by Nigel Horne that began before tMP. It's awfully slow, limited, and seems antiquated in comparison.

it seems very empty and thin...... nothing compared to the vast topic range and experience, activeness of tMP

When the Delphi Forum moved to MSN I discovered a forum attached to one of the Norwegian band sites that had some quite good discussions for a while, but posts there gradually dried up.

I'm not aware of any comparable brass band forums, although there are several good ones devoted to individual instruments, such as http://www.trombone.org
http://www.basstrombone.nl/forum - set up by Ben van Dijk
http://forum.alex281.com - a first-class tuba/euphonium site
