As you probably know, there's a couple of real pesky viruses doing the rounds at the moment, called Netsky and Bagle. The two saddoes (or groups of saddoes) who've been writing these things appear to be having a war with each other to see who can be the biggest scumbag (sorry, but there's no other remotely printable description for them).
One of the main features of these viruses is that they steal other people's e-maill addresses from your PC and use them to make dodgy e-mails look as if they came from another person (who may be innocent and doesn't have the virus at all), this is known as "spoofing" the address. Recently I've noticed a spate of these coming to my e-mail address, with band-related e-mail addresses as senders. Having spoken to Keppler and verfied that there's no way the addresses stored on tMP can be "hacked" the only way these addresses could have been "got" is if someone on here has been infected, perhaps without even realising it. Please please check your PC's, and if you haven't got anti-virus software get some asap!
One of the best defences against viruses is not to open mail from people you don't know, unfortunately these latest viruses even manage to get round this!
