Ouston, Pelton & District Community Brass Band

As part of our policy of committed growth we are now extending our membership policy to include players of all age groups.

The band was formed in 2007 and we currently have over 70 eager youngsters who regularly rehearse in six School bands. Rehearsals are held on Saturday mornings and Monday evenings in the local community centre.

New brass instruments are available with a full set of percussion, music stands, smart modern uniforms, and we play a wide range of music. Tremendous support is received from parents, teachers and the local community in general. Our brass tutors are enthusiastic and are part of a vibrant teaching team.

Euphonium, Trombone and Bass players are now being recruited to correct the instrumental imbalance, and as we currently do not enter contests this opportunity could be suitable to members of other bands who wish to increase their musical activity. Additionally, Salvation Army players may wish to become involved without the conflict of a Sunday commitment.

Experienced musicians are given the opportunity to advise and teach by example the other members of their section, as well as progressing to a more formal teaching involvement should they wish to.

A contribution towards travelling expenses may be available to suitable applicants.

CRB clearance will be required and players should in the first instance contact Norman Walker by email or telephone as follows: -
