Music for Lifeboat Launch

Got a gig in May conducting a 3rd section band where a new RNLI boat gets the official launch. Been asked to play a few pieces with "a nautical theme." Anyone got any ideas as the only ones we can come up with are:

Blow the wind southerly
Fantasy on British Sea songs
A Life on the Ocean wave

Thought we had better not play under the sea or the theme to Titanic! I think Oceans is out of the question as well!

There's got to be an arrangement of "Michael, row the boat ashore", surely...

Alternatively the theme from Titanic?

Drunken Sailor

Help, by the Beatles (Rather appropriate, I thought!!!)
Song of the Sea
The Offical Navy March, presuming they have one.
I recently downloaded THE oldest, THE crappiest, THE most dodgy, THE cheesiest recording of Black Dyke Playing Yellow Submarine.

Get your hands on it and cheese it up

Skye Boat Song

Eton Boating Song

Vaughan Williams march: Sea Songs

You should also include the sailors' hymn, "Melita" - "For those in peril on the Sea"

Padstow Lifeboat - pure cheese but the punters love it!

My old band did it at an RNLI concert - opened the 2nd half and had the "foghorns" coming down the middle of the hall in bright yellow RNLI coats. It went down so well they asked for the same again the next year!

Contact Jo Riseley at Ransomes band as she did a cracking arrangement of Eternal Father. It is an official hymn/song of the navy/marines and is a beautiful slow melody, it also has fanfare cornet parts written in and even an optional 4 part singing section in the middle. I dont know if she published it but you can get in touch with her through their website.
A life on the ocean wave (Royal Marines signature tune)
and Hearts of oak (Royal Navy) about Sailor (Petula Clark)
Rod Stewart's "Sailing"; Fantasia on British Sea Songs; Skye Boat Song; Debussy's Submerged Cathedral (!); The Keel Row; Bridge Over Troubled Water (!); Simon Called Peter (well he was a fisherman!); Eton Boat Song (Kaps); Hornpipe Humoresque;South Pacific (!); Adagio from Spartacus (theme from the Onedin Line); Blow the Wind Southerly (used for a north sea gas advert years ago!)Shipbuilders is by Peter Yorke; Hope that's enough to keep you going!
