I think Chichester may be thier - our MD mentioned that he might like to do it if it was open to first section bands.

Both Nottingham City Transport Band and Carlton Brass have registered interest in the contest if not enough colliery bands go.

Mineworkers Contest

To all those who ever went to this contest when it was at Blackpool, and remember the wonderful weather there in November....howling gales..driving winds...sandstorms....thick fog...snow one year....it's now in Skegness. If you've ever been there it's very cold when it's hot, and thats in the summer months..brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr....good luck to you all, and I will be back in the UK by then, so I may just see you all..

Carlton Main Frickley are intending going. We were intending going to the Mineworkers at Blackpool, but this contest will be a welcome replacement.
