March Contest spaces

We still have some spaces left for entries to our march contest. Prize money is Over £1500 plus you have the chance of winning a brand new cornet for the best solo cornet on the evening.

In Brief the contest is a two venue event with bands performing at the Riverhead in the village centre and at Marsden Bandroom.

The first prize is £250 at both contests there are also sectional prizes and prizes for the best basses, trombones, and solo cornet(which the prize is a brand new cornet).

A prize for best deportment and best youth band are also on offer.

Sectional prize vary from £50 at the Riverhead and £100 at the Bandroom.

I am pleased to announce our adjudiactors for the March contest this year have been confirmed. We have Kevin Wadsworth at the Riverhead and Derek Broadbent at the Bandroom.

We still have a couple of spaces for entries if you would like to join us for the evening.

This is a cracking day Kath - hope it all goes well - I helped Holme Silver out about 4 years ago, and really enjoyed the day (especially back at your bandroom!)

The first band will perform at 5pm at the Riverhead Brewery Tap, Peel Street Marsden. Then make ther way to the Bandroom, Marsden Lane to perform there.

Our delectable BBQ will be on offer again at the Bandroom as well as an outside bar.

Yes, the BBQ was fantastic, I thought that after a slow start, the staff had good intonation and balance. Dynamically overall, a strong performance with a good finish...You just ask the Adjudicators! (Even Bayred Migt Agree?)

Indeed, however I felt that they give it a bit too much towards the end, and the contents had to be consumed in the bar afterwards;)
