March - Through Bolts and Bars

Hi everyone,

Back in the 1970's I remember hearing this march several times at the various concerts I went to I can't remember the composer, does anyone know if it is still in publication? Have searched the usual places without luck.

Would appreciate any help in tracking it down

Cheers

I've a feeling this is a Boosey and Hawkes title. If so, contact Studio Music (020 8830 0110) who handle their BB catalogue.

(If not it's bound to be Wright and Round)

If it is any help in tracking it down, the composer is Ernst Urbach, and on one recording it is also referred to as "Per Aspera ad Astra".

Marched to it last year, it's a good march.

One question though, why do composers love making euphonium players play very high and soft exposed counter melodies while marching?

Bit of a naughty cornet part in it if I remember correctly, lots of dodgy grace notes n stuff. Cracking march though!
