Not taking part, but was thinking of going over if I was feeling upto it (been ill all week :-( )
Where is it taking place exactly? and what time does it start?

Ah ha! Found these details on 4BR :D

At Wardle High School, Near Rochdale, on Sunday November 23rd 2003. The Manchester District Open Contest. with over 30 Bands competing. First Band is on stage at 10 00 am.

i didn't even know it was taking place.

the old Jungle drums of the brass band world are letting us down ! ! !
 
You should read 4br more carefully then Railybobs!
Me and my bloke will be there on sun for a listen, supporting our old bands etc. Always a good laugh is Manchester contest. 8)

By 'bar' I presume you mean classroom!!! We'll be there, hopefully maintaining last weeks luck!!

thank you!! even though we only had the piece out for 3 weeks it was hard work!!!! well played i listend to u and your slow movement brought tears to my eyes it was so nice!!!

my dad plays for skelmersdale, who played today in the second section. and in their opinion played extremely badly. in fact they thought that they couldnt play the piece any worse. they played oceans by goff richards. they came 2nd and also won best basses.
