Can we all spare a thought for Ady and Clare of Wem Jubilee Band who lost their mother this afternoon. Jan has been ill in hospital for some weeks and finally lost the fight this afternoon. My sympathy goes out to Clare and Ady and also to all of Wem band who've lost a valued committee member.
Can I also extend, not only my personal condolences, but those of the Deiniolen Band, and all of us here on tMP.

Thanks to Piers and Dyl for posting this message, very thoughtful.

As Piers has already stated, Jan has been a loyal supporter and fantastic committee member since her children Adrian and Clare joined the Wem Band some 12 years ago. She worked tirelessly on behalf of the band and those who have played with our band on the concert platform would have no doubt sampled her delightful buffets - especially the prawns - which she provided just for the MD. She was the life and soul of all our Annual Dinners and Parties and nothing was ever too much trouble. She will be sadly missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go to Clare, Adrian and family during this very sad time.

God Bless Jan.

Roger, Salli, Becky and Tom

Jan was a wonderful person who was always willing to go the extra mile to make sure something was done right. Nothing was ever too much trouble and her home was always open for parties, get togethers or even a bacon buttie!!!!

She was a wonderful committee member and a valued asset to the band in general.

She will be sorely missed by all.

Thoughts and prayers go to Adrian, Clare, Marj and Herb in this most difficult of times.

We'll miss you Jan

Jan was a fantastic friend and a special person, and I consider myself priviledged to have known her, and it was also a priviledge to have been referred to by her as 'her second son'. She was a stalwart of Wem Jubilee, and did so much for so many. You will be sadly missed.

May You Rest in Peace

I like to share some words with you, called "Footsteps in The Sand "

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene, he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest time in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Claire and Ady,
It was a pleasure to know your mum and she will be missed by all who had their lives touched by her.
I know it seems at the moment that nothing can take away or lessen the pain but in time you will be able to think of the happy times you spent together rather than the pain.
Rest in peace Jan

Love

Rhian

"The lord bless you and keep you. the lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, the lord lift up the light of his countenance upon you and give you peace.

There's many a fond memory of Jan spanning 10 years:

* Attending junior band back in the days of Donna Barron and supervising the children to make sure they came to no harm.

* Marching at the front of the carnival to escort the young children as mascots, ensuring they weren't left out of the banding experience.

* Refusing to accept anything less than quality at Wem band buffets, often taking on the whole task herself with some assistance from her mother. Fantastic tasty food and displayed to perfection too.

Our deepest sympathy goes to all her family during this very sad time. No time or space to say it all.

God Bless.

Steven, Kari, Jack and William.
