Show me one promise the Labour party have acheived since they took power?
The first term was spent rolling out the same old statement "inherited from the previous administration" as an excuse for not doing anything and their second term has been a complete disaster. Not withstanding the apparent lies they told to justify taking us to war, at the back end of last year we seemed only weeks away from another winter of discontent (No prizes for guessing who caused the last one.)
The cold fact is, and no-one can honestly deny it, is that for two budgets after Labour took power Gordon Brown could do nothing to improve the situation because it was as good as it could have been. The last Conservative government were voted out by a public all too willing to believe everything they read in the papers. Apparent sleaze cost the tories their last term in office, not their performance at running the country. And the latest figures of unemployment, inflation etc still aren't as low as they were before Labour took power.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a committed tory voter, I honestly don't know which way to vote for the best at the mo, but this tory bashing attitude the country has adopted just annoys me.
New Labour?? Don't make me laugh...same old lefties adopting near tory policy (i.e. willing to go against everything the labour party originally stood for) just to get in to power.
And the only decent one (as it turns out) amongst the labout rank and file left them cos he could see what liars they are. Well done Robin Cooke for having the courage of your convictions, pity Claire Short didn't have as many scruples!!!
