How are chocolate oranges made?

after eating the last of my xmas choccy, a thought struck me as to how they make choccy oranges. :dunno

do they make the middle bit and get people to glue the segments around it?

can anyone explain??

well either, they make them in wedges, half cool them, then put them together so the bond between the segments is weaker, or there's a magical chocolate orange tree in Terry's back yard...

I reckon they make the wedges just the right size so that when they assemble them there's a hole left down through the middle that they can squirt a plug of chocolate into to bind it all together. Might be total nonsense but that's what I think

My family actually make these chocolates. Terry was actually my great , great uncle but our brach of the family has been disowned so I still can't answer your question

They take an orange, coat it in chocolate, allow it to set then stick a needle in to burst the orange then remove it through a hole in the bottom, through which they then pum more chocolate. They then have a special machine to slice it up, then wrap and box them.

Can't do that, cos each segment has "Terry's" written on it. I say it's the chocolate fairy.
On that subejct, Michelle, maybe you could make up with the other branch of your family and then you could produce special tMP chocolate?
