Thinking about it, entertainments contests are as much of a yardstick as the hardest testpiece - most bands spend there year playing an "entertaining" program anyway. Just cos a band can play really difficult pieces, does not prove they are the best band at entertaining the public / audience (which i think is the idea of all this????)
Worth thinkin about.... Testpieces show who has the best players in a band, entertainments contests possibly show the best "band" as a unit... - whats everyone else think???
