In addition to his position as Musical Director for the Brass Band of Central Florida, Mr. Garasi also serves as Music Director of the Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra's Philharmonia Orchestra and has since left the Broward Symphony Orchestra to become the Conductor and Music Director of the Treasure Coast Symphony. Mr. Garasi has also acted as a guest conductor for the 2004 “Tuba Christmas” as well as a guest conductor and guest clinician for numerous high school/middle school bands and orchestras throughout the state of Florida.

While conductor of the Brass Band of Central Florida, Mr. Garasi has conducted such world class solo performers as Philip Smith, Principal Trumpet of the New York Philharmonic and Euphonium soloists Steven Mead, and Bob and David Childs. Mr. Garasi led the BBCF to its first US Open Championship in the fall of 2004 as well as first place at the North American Brass Band Championship in the spring of 2005.

Mr. Garasi attended the Eastman School of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music receiving his Bachelor and Master Degrees in Music Performance in Percussion. He has appeared as a percussionist with the orchestras of Indianapolis, Youngstown, Canton, Chautauqua, Florida Philharmonic, and the New World Symphony in Miami.

In December of 2004, Mr. Garasi was nominated as “Newcomer of the Year” by 4BarsRest. Mr. Garasi is the only American to ever to receive this honor from Great Britain. He has continued his conducting studies by attending workshops and seminars led by Pierre Boulez at Carnegie Hall, Dr. Fredrick Fennell at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, Dr. Roby George and Allan McMurray at the Florida International University, Michael Jinbo at the Pierre Monteux School for Conductors in Hancock, Maine, and privately with Joseph Kreines.
