Bizarre enquiry:left to right or right to left??

OK now this is a bit odd, but for some reason we were talking about trying to read music backwards from bottom to top, and I for some reason then wondered this.....

Hebrew is read from right to left, so when music is played do they read it too from right to left rather than from left to right ?? I posed this to super-sop and he told me that I should post a topic on here.

My mind is bizarre I know, I apologise for its goings on...

Arabic is read from right to left but when they read music they have to read it left to right which they find really difficult at first but then get used to it!!!

Which poses the question. How do they manage when the lyrics to a song are printed beneath the music. There must be a few cross-eyed arabs and jews out there.

When I write my music for the Royal Guard of Oman bands I usually write the music first left to right and then they are given the song words in Arabic seperately for them to learn. They don't sing many western songs so they don't need to read the music and words on the same sheet like we do. If you buy a book out here in Oman in Arabic it starts at the back and finishes at the front.

Watched the highlights from the Edinburgh Tattoo the other week and thought the items came across well.
