Banding anagram quiz II (with edit!)

Much the same format as the last one. All past and present top section bands, (B) soloists, (S) conductors, (C) composers (CP). Test pieces are either National Championship top section pieces (NTP) or British Open test pieces which have never been played at the National top section finals (BOTP). However, I've lied for one of the anagrams! One of them (despite given a 'false code'), isn't one of the above (clue: it's a 'test piece'!), so I need THAT answer... AND the initial letters of the answers, when shuffled correctly, reveal a group from the world of brass. Plus all the anagrams! (or as many as you can do!)

EDIT. Please pm me with the answers. Deadline Monday 4pm.

Good luck!

A purge (6) (BOTP)

Utopian horse (3, 9) (S)

Brutish arrogance kids (9, 3, 8 ) (B)

Immune drains (6, 6) (NTP)

Slap ten (7) (BOTP)

The mirror army (5, 8 ) (S, C)

Enjoyed routine form (7, 4, 7) (NTP)

Un-named moons in fat (2, 3, 3, 9 ) (BOTP)

I fine devil (4, 6) (NTP)

Senile bloomer (6, 7) (S)

'e sees Sky TV (5, 5) (S, C)

We regard lad (6, 5) (CP)

Brill! Ace! (4, 4) (CP)

Arab sells inca (8, 5) (B)

Cosy pipe hymn (4, 8 ) (NTP)

Soldiery (2, 3, 1'2) (NTP)

So regret brew (5, 7) (S)

Greeny (6) (NTP)

I meet wood enhancement box (7, 3, 4, 3, 6) (NTP)

Re-tell my brain! (6, 7) (CP)

Shh! Clinical sod! (8, 6) (C)

Set universe (6, 5) (NTP)

Born from a nectar (6, 9) (CP)

Miner won ski (5, 6) (CP)

Ah! Sorry, should have made clear. Can you pm me the answers instead of putting them on these boards, please. My fault.

Cheers

You put in Robert MacFarnon again, yay!
And either you "lied" on more than one clue, or I'm being a very dumb blonde... :?

Nope! accidental is being a very eagle eyed blonde! Or a beagle-eyed bond, or a bagel eyed band, or whatever.... ;-) I don't know how I boobed (probably just rushing to get the quiz out. Sorry!) but there ARE two 'rogue' test pieces in there. See if other entrants can spot it! (With a pm of course!)

Are you sure there aren't three rogue ones :?:

Sending pm with answers, although I'm stumped on one of them

(edit - no I'm not  )

Sent in my answers - very fun!! Thanks Dave!

I have to admit, since I'm not in the UK the niceties of whether something was used as a test piece in the Open or in the Nationals sort of escape me. There may have been multiple "rogue" test pieces in there, but I really wouldn't know. I was just trying to figure out the titles, and occassionally referring to 4barsrest or my own CD collection for confirmation or for ideas.

I'm probably giving away a trade secret here, but the Internet Bandsman's Everything Within has (among other things) full lists of the results and test pieces for all the major contests since the year dot. Its probably the best resource on the web for anything Brass Band, so definitely worth a look!

Trust me, it's certainly not a trade secret, at least as far as I'm concerned!! I use it quite frequently. However, I have not used the archive of contest information and had forgotten to look there until I was pretty much already done with this round of anagrams. I'll be better prepared next go-round!
