EEb bass tuba made by Antoine Courtois

4 piston valves (3+1) with compensating system.
Bore: 19mm; Compensation 20mm.
Bell: 475mm.
Finish: Brass (with clear lacquer).
Made in France.
Approximately 13-16 years old.
Serial No.: 80220

Very good playing condition
- free blowing, solid valve action, slides all free, no large dents, bell flare/rim is straight. Water key corks, valve felts and springs all used but not in need of urgent replacement. 2nd valve water key spring recently snapped - currently replaced by an elastic band (see pictures), but a very easy fix (springs approx. £2.00-5.00).

Good cosmetic condition
- usual scuffs/scratches/dings to be expected of an instrument of this age and experience (see pictures).

Comes with Antoine Courtois hard case
, lined with royal blue felt - usual cosmetic damage, including tear to black plastic cover just below pull handle (see pictures), but all clasps in full working order, no missing/broken hinges, and wheels turn freely.

The tuba was purchased from Trevada Music (based in Cross Hands, Carmarthenshire) in 2011. Since then it has been my main instrument, used in numerous ensembles (brass quintets and bands, windbands, military bands, chamber and symphony orchestras), for concerts, parades, recitals and day-to-day practice.

Very reluctant sale due to work restrictions and post-wedding financial constraints. This instrument has been played almost daily since purchase, but recent timetabling changes have meant that unfortunately I can't justify keeping it.

In all, a very solid bass that has given good service, and which I'm sure will continue to do so for many years to come!

Ideally the item would be collected in person, but delivery could be arranged at buyer's expense (happy to deliver within 100 miles of Derby for fuel cost, or to arrange courier for buyers further afield).
