I don't know if im going crazy, but i cant seem to find any place mentioning who won the soloist prize at the 2005 europeans..does anyone know who it was?

There was no soloist competetion this year. There was one for conductors, which was won by some Austrian guy.

Sorry to be confusing..I meant who won best soloist (picked out of the test pieces) - you know, the one david childs one last year?

Can't help you with that question unfortunately...
I can't find any reference to a soloist prize, so maybe there wasn't one?
