Really nice contest, hope to go again.

Was really pleased with Barnsley's second at the Red Lion, and BEST BASS SECTION there as well!! How on earth did we get equal second in deportment? Did some bands run down the hill or something?

Yorkshire Imperial won the contest overall, don't know any of the other placings but do know we won the March at both venues, took best Euph at the Red Lion and won the Hymn Tune at one venue and took a second at the other venue and also got Best Bass Section at both venues. We played Honest Toil and Roy Newsome's arrangement of Deep Harmony. It was a great day out and the weather was very kind, wonderful venue and very well organised, can't wait for next year!

Well done to Imps, impressive haul of prizes. Hebden Bridge won the Hymn at the Red Lion, 2nd on March at the Red Lion, 3rd on hymn at the Lodge, best solo cornet at both venues and to great surprise won the deportment - must have been because it was cool enough to actuallywear a jacket by the time we played! Great contest well organised and easy to get served at the bar which is a big plus!
