Following the huge success of the 2nd Mellieha International Band Festival which was held between the 11th and 15th April 2004 we have started our preparations for the 3rd Mellieha International Band Festival.
In this year's festival we saw the participation of Manger Musikklag (Norway), Universal Brass Band (Switzerland), Doncaster Concert Band (UK), Belvedere Concert Band (UK), Brass Ensamble of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama (UK), Ghaqda Muzikali Imperial (Malta) and the Socjeta' Filarmonica La Vittoria (Malta).
Each night we had three bands performing to a warm audience of between 600 and 900. The festival came to an end with a mass band formed of all the participating bands. All the festival was recorded by a national tv station and videos of the festival are for sale.
We have now started the preparations for the 3rd Mellieha International Band Festival which is being held between the 27th and 31st March 2005. Should any band be interested they could contact me on email festival@plusmalta.com or phone number 00356 79618251.
