2013 Gloucestershire Brass Band Association Entertainment Contest

The 2013 Gloucestershire Brass Band Association Entertainment Contest will be once again held at ‘The Larruperz Centre’ Ross-on-Wye following the move there last February.

The contest will be held on the 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] of February and the adjudicator will be Lieutenant Colonel Graham Jones.

The contest will be again in two sections – Section B for Youth, Training & Unregistered Bands and Section A for all Nationally Graded Bands.

It is an ‘Open Contest’ therefore the Gloucestershire Brass Band Association will accept entries from bands anywhere in the country and will accept entries from bands registered with the British Brass Band Registry, Brass Band Players Registry, Welsh Registry or Scottish Registry. With the ongoing debate with regard to registries the GBBA are keen to get bands to enter irrespective of which registry they are using come February.

The closing date for entries is the 31[SUP]st[/SUP] of December 2012 and entry forms can be downloaded from our website http://www.gbba-online.org.uk/contests.html (please scroll to bottom of the page for forms).

[h=5]Just a quick reminder for bands that the closing date for the GBBA Entertainment Contest - to be held on the 3rd of February 2013 - is the 31st of December!

Full details and entry forms can be downloaded from our website www.gbba-online.org.uk

Unfortunately Pillowell have had to withdraw amid rumours of snow and frozen valves. The perils of having a band room literally in the woods. Great views though.

Thanks for the heads-up on these ones guys, I went to the most senior source imaginable for confirmation only to learn that we can add Rogerstone to that list too. Damned shame as it's a great contest, ah well...

Congratulations to all involved. I love the format of this contest - individual section prizes, but everyone competes in an open section - well done Ebbw Valley (Vale?)

How about the Youth, Training and Unregistered section Dave? There doesn't seem to be any announcement from the GBBA for this section and I'm sure it was a cracker as it usually is.
