The funeral of Ray Peacock is today at 11am at Tyldesley Parish Church, Elliot Street, Tyldesley M29 8JE. A band of Fairey's players past and present will be there to provide the music, conducted by David King. please come and pay your respects to one of the bands greats if you are free.

Many moons ago I played with Sale Brass on top of a MOVING open top bus for Nicholas Winterton's local election campaign. Every few minutes someone would shout "TREE!!!!" and we would all have to duck down to avoid decapitation. That was fairly special.

Well, it only (!) took 15 months but we're back in business with a much better bandroom. Albeit we have lost a lot of priceless memoribilia and aquired a few unwelcome equipment replacement debts, but hey, we got on the tele!!!!
Never been able to get on with the TR181. With bog standard French horn valves and umpteen hair pin 180deg bends in the wrap it's hardly surprising you aren't blowing any walls down! Plus the bell is so short that 3rd position is in like 3.5 position! I know a lot of good players have used them...
For some reason I read your signature first ...
"My Baps are made for olympic-standard juggling"
and then struggled to concentrate on the rest of the post.
However, I am now convinced that 'bap juggling' should be recongised as an Olympic event and intend to write to Lord Coe to this effect!
