    Gala concert -SUPERB!

    Gala Concert Decided to go to this concert despite a big hangover. Black Dyke were absolutely fantastic - Procession to the Minster was the best I've ever heard it played! Fodens were also extremely good. Special mention for David Childs too - his solo was fabulous - very moving!Class act.

    Being a back row player does not mean that you are any less of a player than the front row guys!! It's the back row guys who create most of the sound of the cornet section - thought everyone knew that!!!

    I think it's ok to play it at the National Contest but apart from that it's not necessary. Anyway, we Scottish people hate it as there is a verse which talks about beating us to a pulp - Aye that'll be right!!!! Billy Connolly's got the right idea - the Archer's tune is perfect - at least...

    I would agree with you. Band Supplies in Scotland have always been helpful anytime I have dealt with them and I've ordered mouthpieces online from the Leeds Shop without any probs. Hope you find what you're looking for. :bounce
