    Cornet Concertos

I'm writing a long and laborious essay and I need a list of cornet concertos that have been written in the last fifty years. Want to make sure I haven't missed anything... Can you prompt me with some??

All tried and tested, but thanks for the thought.

    Mouthpiece cleaning

Ooooh, well I wasn't planning on going industrial, just 1/2l sized. Don't want to hurt the bats - we have them around us.

    Mouthpiece cleaning

Thanks, gents, I just, potentially, want a larger one because I have 61 mouthpieces of various sizes and would prefer to do a few at a time.

    Mouthpiece cleaning

Hello! I've got a tub full of old and tatty mouthpieces that with a bit of effort could look much cleaner and nicer, that I use for people to try out or for whole class type trying. I know chemical cleaning is all the thing, but I wondered if anyone has any success with the larger ultrasonic...

    Help needed - Riisager

Hi all, I'm not going over to the dark side, but need some detailed info on the Riisager Trumpet Concertino. Anyone know where there's any info other than the wikipedia-type entries on the internet. Books are non-existent or in Danish - I've gone to great lengths to look. There must be someone...

    Adjudicators / Players

My point was / is that each area has enough adjudicators, whether it be 1 in the box, or 2. It turned out that said championship section players adjudicated their own section. They could have easily swapped one or both around to avoid any potential lack of objectivity that may arise from the...

    Adjudicators / Players

My point wasn't about Frank Renton - I wasn't aware of that one. It was a midlands-based scenario. The geography is by-the-by, really - it could happen anywhere. There were enough adjudicators to cover all sections - my only suggestion would be to swap them round so that there would be no clash...

    Adjudicators / Players

That's not very constructive, Stevetrom. There's always room for improvement - this is a discussion forum, so those that want to discuss can do just that.

    Adjudicators / Players

I don't know if this has been touched on before, but what are your thoughts on the following: How can it be deemed objective or ethical even, for a musician, actively playing in the Championship Section, to adjudicate the same section in another area?

    Paddy's Midlands Area - 2013

Thanks for this, on behalf of Bilton Silver, Mark. Appreciate your comments and agree re David Stowell. Every rehearsal an absolute musical pleasure - one of the most enjoyable test piece journeys I've had in recent years. We expect to move up to Section 1 from Jan - a whole new ball game!

    Paddy's Midlands Area - 2013

What's the take on 'The Planatagenets' at 16 & 19. Did any of the Yorkshire bands actually nail it?

    Paddy's Midlands Area - 2013

I don't think anyone's doubting their valid reasons - just that the ones given in the press release are allegedly not the ones preventing them from taking part. Don't you feel a bit miffed if you read something in the tabloids that skews the truth? Same here. It's like eating beefburgers and...

    Paddy's Midlands Area - 2013

Hmm. There are some convenient and blatant dual standards here. Not something I wish to be party to. Over and out.
