    Paddy's Yorkshire Area - 2012

SO our 3rd was bemusing and makes you want to jack it all in, wow, thank-you. and there's me thinking that we played well after all the hard work we put in maybe you should put yourself forward to adjudicate after all you seem to think you had a better handle on it than the adjudicators, I...

Brass band members targeted with 'abusive' tweets

Think a quiet message to them at the time saying they were being monitored and that the tweets were offending and a warning them that further action would be taken if they continued would have sufficed Wonder how much of this is also certain people/organisations trying to get publicity and...

Brass band members targeted with 'abusive' tweets

Having read the tweets, i agree it got out of hand and would not defend them in anyway However i hope this debate doesnt go into "Daily Mail" mode with people who never saw any of them professing how offended and disgusted they were without having first hand exposure to them

Is it cheating to borrow players for contests? 4bars think so

Cheating means breaking the rules If the rules say you can borrow then you havent broken the rules hence you are not cheating Its ok to criticise the rules but to say something that is legal is "cheating" is just wrong and maybe a case of 4barsrest falling into a habit of sensationalist journalism

    Pontin 2010 Results?

If they scrapped the no borrow rule, we wouldn't have been able to go as we have 2 cornet vacancies and our Euph player is abroad working. Love to see how many bands would have actually made Pontins if they hadn't borrowed players Wonder if there would be a "we need to borrow players" thread...

    Pontin 2010 Results?

I forgot Ian doesn't do sarcasm, or proper reading of other posts too ;-) Your right it was sarcasm It would have been impossible for any band to play Les Preludes with seats empty. We played 3 on the front row for the areas but this piece meant you had to have 4 without some serious rewriting...
