Gordon Langford "Endearing young charms" euph solo.

Does anyone know if there's a piano reduction for the above? I'd like to do it for a slow melody competition. If there isn't one, does anyone know if /how I could get one done?i have access to the band parts, but not the necessary musical skill or knowledge. Thanks for any help you can give.

    Ophicleide

Is your instrument a quinticlave from Wessex tubas? How many keys does it have? I have an original instrument in C, fully restored. I'm more limited by trying to learn bass clef than by the instrument itself. They are very mouthpiece dependent in my experience.

    Yamaha Neo Euph for sale

I am retiring from regular banding and selling my Yamaha Neo euphonium. I'll be going to Stevenage on Sunday 18th and be happy to bring the euph for inspection. Otherwise, happy to sort it by email. I'm looking for £2500. for a quick sale.

    Tuning and Intonation

Thank you 4th cornet, I stand corrected. It was a long time since Grade 5 theory! The explanation is correct though. I make early woodwind instruments for a living, so I deal with this stuff every day, since early instruments are not tuned to equal temperament. Thanks also for the comment on...

    Tuning and Intonation

If you tune a chord with an electronic tuner e.g CEGC with each person playing their note so the tuner is bang in the middle, the result will only be in tune in the way that a piano is in tune, i.e. in equal temperament. That doesn't actually sound very nice, because equal tempered intervals are...

Wessex Baritone Horn - any opinions?

Yes indeed. That intuitive, can't -put your-finger-on-it response is worth its weight in gold. Enjoy it!

Wessex Baritone Horn - any opinions?

My last band bought an Eb bass from Wessesx (for my missus) and a baritone (for me, 'cos I was doubling on bari tho' usually a euph player). The bass was excellent - not without its faults (thin brass, poor threading on the valves/caps) but a cracking instrument. As their website says, it's not...

    Uncomestaed euph. with trigger?

Thanks for all the help on both subjects!

    Uncomestaed euph. with trigger?

I must admit this thought had occurred to me! But not new to motorcycling - much of my misspent youth, and some of my "adult" (really - a euphonium player?) years were spent on two wheels. I just fancied a last trot round the field before sinking inexorably toward the knacker's yard. And my euph...

Sorry, typo in title, apologies all round, normally quite literate.

    Uncomestaed euph. with trigger?

I'm shortly going to sell my Neo euph as I'm giving up "serious" banding (and I want to buy a motorbike while I can still get on it without falling off the other side). But I don't want to be without a euph completely. What do you folk think about a non-compensated instrument with an...

    Triple Tounging

I've just spent a couple of minutes ticking and clucking away to myself and while I can see the logic in what you say, it remains the case that I can repeat TKT easily but I can't repeat TTK, and I think that's an experience that other people have too. It's annoying, because I can do TTK as a...

    Triple Tounging

I'd agree with everything that's been said, but I think it's a fact of life that some people can do it quite easily and for others it's a struggle. I started playing euph when I was 12 and I'm 52 now. I also play flute and recorder (stop sniggering in the back row) and I can triple tongue at a...

Glynn Parry Hammonds Sauce Works Band

Hi all, Haven't posted before, so apologies if this is in the wrong place or otherwise out of order. I'm copying some of my old vinyl LPs onto CD and came across a record of Hammonds Sauce Works Band with a version of Carnival of Venice ( the Rimmington variations, not Arban) played on euph...
