Do you think the move to a Kapitol Owned registry is Good, Bad or . . . . .

So this has been released as a result of the widespread rumours going about. How many times have they been asked for this information by concerned bands! Still no definitive confirmation, why the secrecy? Why are they not replying to valid questions at the time? This whole press release...

Do you think the move to a Kapitol Owned registry is Good, Bad or . . . . .

So how were they able to put a rule change through??? And surely this would only be a vote/decision for the English regions? Ie all of them 1. How can they vote if at least two of areas not represented 2. Why would Scotland and Wales have a vote? (If indeed they did) More questions than...

Do you think the move to a Kapitol Owned registry is Good, Bad or . . . . .

What I mean is that they have done their sums already, as any business looking to make a profit does. It's obviously going to cost more but I fear that the lack of information coming from Kapitol on the potential costs indicates substantial increases from the current fees. If not, then they...

Do you think the move to a Kapitol Owned registry is Good, Bad or . . . . .

Would be a very poor business if they have gone ahead with this plan with no consideration of setup costs, ongoing costs and potential fee revenue. I suspect they have already done this exercise, and have already concluded that current costs of running a registry are not feasible to a company...

Do you think the move to a Kapitol Owned registry is Good, Bad or . . . . .

Not sure exactly how the current registry is owned/setup/funded/controlled, but would it not make more financial sense for Kapitol to invest in the current registry, thus making sure there are no repeats of earlier in year, rather than having the financial outlay (which will no doubt be passed...

    Brass Band Registry.

A lot of the issues people have (apart from the lack of consultation with the bands) is the unknown cost. Not sure exactly how the current registry is owned/setup/funded/controlled, but would it not make more financial sense for Kapitol to invest in the current registry, thus making sure there...

    Brass Band Registry.

It is the representatives of the bands that makes up the North Wrst area though? And they have discussed this registration malarkey with the bands in their area and have came up with their reply. I appreciate North East had an AGM on 1st October but am still at a loss to understand why we...

Any feedback from the north west area meeting last night?

    Brass Band Registry.

Exactly! Together we stand, divided we fall. This could be the beginning of the end if the bands don't come together and decide as a whole.

Is there plans for each area to have a conflab on this? What if half the areas decide to reject and half accept? Whole situation is a concern, and even more so if there is no clear communication from the bands, to the areas, to the whole country.

    Brass Band Registry.

Why would the secretary oppose a meeting to allow all the bands to get together and discuss this?!? Seems a bit strange. Great to see the meeting above advertised for North West. I thought all regions would be doing something similar.

    Brass Band Registry.

I humbly stand corrected! So what was the consensus? For the bands, and the area as a whole? If they ran out of time, are there plans for another meeting to discuss and decide the options, as an area? Or are the bands being left to decide individually.

Apparently there was no mention of it at AGM? Although surely something of this importance would warrant a specially organised meeting for sole purpose of discussing registry as an area?

    Brass Band Registry.

Just thinking ahead to Scottish Open, what's going to happen when English bands compete there!? Assume Scotland and Wales are going to have to agree what cards to accept. It's such a mess. We discussed it at band the other night, hard to know best thing to do, and was amazed that there didn't...

    Paddy's North of England Area - 2011

Also.. (while am in posting mode :-) ) having only experienced the Scottish area (where warm up rooms are pretty much standard etc) surely its time for situations like this to change? We all put so much time and effort (and money) into practicing and rehearsing the area piece, then we are...
