I have a solution. Given that 4/5 of those nasty winning Welsh bands are from north Wales, and we all agree that the beer is ****, how about moving the competition to south Wales so we can make things fairer for the rest of the country and also get Brains on tap?

Yes, that's right - it's all a big conspiracy by the Welsh. Rumbled... In seriousness though, plenty of Welsh bands get it in the neck from 4BR - just take it with a pinch of salt.

Better band, more experience of playing in different environments and (tongue planted slightly in cheek here, admittedly) a different day! Unless you've played on that stage you won't understand just how hot it is! So like I say, don't herald a drop in the standards of bands throughought...

In fairness the Eisteddfod stage always causes a lot of bands tuning problems because of the sheer heat on stage and the different areas you have to wait around in before you get on stage etc, and this weekend was no exception. Listen to those same bands that you perceived to have tuning...

Ok, so we all get the point that presence of north Wales bands is disproportionate because of the distance they have to travel and costs etc., but does anyone know the actual numbers/ratio of potential competing bands in the south and north?

I reckon first to championship is the toughest, cos it's the one that may see you losing players for various reasons.
