Thanks a lot for your suggestions, I haven't spoken to repairmen yet - should probably have done that.
I got this instrument secondhand, and played it a lot (to do ABRSM Grade 5 and preparing for Grade 6, we then got a new instrument for my son) and the valve guides, which are metal/plastic...
It's not a great instrument, but I happen to have one (for playing duets with my son now and then, I usually play trombone).
The valves are quite terrible, and I think new valve guides could improve the situation somewhat.
Has anybody any idea where I could get them?
Google, ebay, thomann & co...
Hi 2nd tenor,
Thanks a lot for your reply.
I am with the BTS, and had some great time at the annual gatherings.
Clefs are no issue here, i am used to c clefs, treble clef in concert pitch and Bb (also just done my ABRSM Grade 5 Euphonium)
Hi, I am Juergen, grew up (musically speaking) in a German town band of 50 where my father still plays trombone, starting with trombone at the age of 12. I spent some time in the Early Music scene playing baroque trombones, and then had some time off, after coming to Britain.
