    Success! The measurments of the valve guides were confirmed by Dawkes and the Yamaha ones arrived today. After a bit of adjustment the valves are improved beyond recognition.

    It's not a great instrument, but I happen to have one (for playing duets with my son now and then, I usually play trombone). The valves are quite terrible, and I think new valve guides could improve the situation somewhat. Has anybody any idea where I could get them? Google, ebay, thomann & co...

    Hi 2nd tenor, Thanks a lot for your reply. I am with the BTS, and had some great time at the annual gatherings. Clefs are no issue here, i am used to c clefs, treble clef in concert pitch and Bb (also just done my ABRSM Grade 5 Euphonium) Cheers
