    Worst Gig

Many moons ago I played with Sale Brass on top of a MOVING open top bus for Nicholas Winterton's local election campaign. Every few minutes someone would shout "TREE!!!!" and we would all have to duck down to avoid decapitation. That was fairly special. Then there was the Majors investiture...

    Paddy's North-West Area - 2012

We all like to have a snipe at Iwan but he's definitely getting better at second guessing the judges, and (save for his obsession with all things Welsh and soprano cornet!) he is more likely to deliver an unbiased view than "people in the hall". Most of whom are following a particular band or...

    Does poaching exist?

    1. Sadly in our part of the band-o-sphere that is a regular occurance. 2. This whole thread condensed in a sentence! :)

    Help...bass trombone mid life crisis!

I do recall envying the super quiet plastic linkage on the TR181 when I was playing my clanky old Back 50B3LO back in 1935 or whenever it was.

    Help...bass trombone mid life crisis!

Never been able to get on with the TR181. With bog standard French horn valves and umpteen hair pin 180deg bends in the wrap it's hardly surprising you aren't blowing any walls down! Plus the bell is so short that 3rd position is in like 3.5 position! I know a lot of good players have used them...
