Yes will be at Cheltenham, live only a few miles away, so if your band needs a rehearsal room........RWCMD eh, good luck with that, is it to learn how to play a bass lol ?, I thought we played quite well last weekend but not surprised the standard is very high. Good luck to you in the future and...

http://www.chalfordband.co.uk/tables2013.html Try that, our contest secretary Andy compiled this Provisional list for the 4th and Championship sections as 2 of our bands play in these. Looks like Chalford, Brunel promoted are Chalford,Brunel relegated, shows how tough the top section is, looks...

I couldn`t agree more, Flowers are a consistent group of performers who have a full band AND a youth band, I would never have any gripes at them, anyway Lee used to play in our band so he would eat me if I disagreed, my point was in general not about the west of England, I know how top bands...

Well done to Flowers and Woodfalls good luck at the finals. And especially to Wotton who won the third section. I was hugely proud to play for Chalford yesterday in the Championship section, we came last with no disgrace but with the same players that we will have next concert contest etc, I...

How is everyone getting on with their pieces?, only just over a week away now, heard the Chalford Academy bands 4th section piece, sounding very nice only 3 players over 18 I believe, as for our Championship band (I like the sound of that) hard work and enjoyment will pay off, we will be in the...

I was making a general point that even the most progressive band has the "we are a dying breed attitude" when it is far from this. Bands are changing developing different methods of teaching in a fast moving world of instant gratification. If you take a load of young people train them and they...

    Paddy's West of England Area - 2013

I suppose I don`t see any cracks in banding all I see in our band is a very successful group with 4 bands, beginners, junior, academy and senior bands, full of people who train and encourage the young players. I don`t see any negativity or moaning about the state of banding, just an organisation...

The 4th section had 6 bands promoted to the 3rd section this year to make it a more manageable contest, some bands drop out some come back in it`s the same every year :)
