Trumpets required Halifax Sat April 26th

The Yorkshire Wind Orchestra could do with a couple of extra trumpets for a concert at the Square Chapel, Halifax, Saturday April 26th. ***Please note this is Spring Festival day (which is why I'm struggling for deps!)**** Rehearsal 5.30-6.30, concert 7.30. There's also a rehearsal in Wakefield...

Butlins - Cornet or sop available

Given my irrational desire to spend a January weekend in Skegness, I have this habit of tarting myself round anyone who is a player short for the Butlins contest. Last three years: Dodworth and Kippax on sop, Uppermill on front line. Happy to play any position outside top section (don't want to...

Bass Trombone - Harrogate Symphony Orchestra

Vacancy for a bass trombonist from September. The orchestra rehearses on Thursdays in Knaresborough and puts on around half a dozen high quality concerts per year, mostly in the Royal Hall and International Conference Centre. See our website for more details...

Back Row / Sop for Spring Festival

Massive thanks to Hatfield for having me on board for the Senior Trophy - really enjoyed playing with you.

    Registration..

I've just read the release about Tameside/Lancashire Contests. Makes sense except for the reference to "borrowed players" - how can a player be "borrowed" if there is no registration? It would make far more sense to just restrict players to, say, playing for any two bands on the day, regardless...

    Registration..

The thing about the spring festival/British Open is it's very self contained - much easier than the Areas to "police" the one band per player rule. So if needed they could just operate on a list of players and ignore both registries. Time for our oldest and greatest contest to take a lead???

    Registration..

At which point, you don't really need a "card", just a way of checking that players make only one "Area" appearance per year.

Back Row / Sop for Spring Festival

Currently not in full time "banding" due to other commitments (depping on front row in 1st section for NW Area). NOT registered with Kapitol so available to sign rather than be "borrowed". Would love to play sop on Journey Into Freedom again, but unless one of the lucky 20 keels over, quite...

    Registration..

Or more likely = the ability of the whole to play as a team, which is why there's only so much influence a "ringer" can have. Outside of the top section, many of the "ringers" I've come across have sat down the line and just helped out. The registration system is certainly a hindrance to such...

    Registration..

So, does the fact that I'm doing Blackpool on an "unaccredited" BBBR card mean I could have played at another "Area" on a Kapitol card then? Seriously considered doing this last night for someone with an emergency situation, but decided it was too dodgy!

    Sop/Cornet available for Butlins

Not playing full time Brass Band at the moment due to orchestral commitments. Available for the Butlins contest on sop or cornet, section 1-4. Expenses negotiable depending on distance (located in Wakefield) and number of rehearsals required. Currently registered in championship section so...

Yorkshire Wind Orchestra - Trumpets required

Thanks to this thread, we recruited a great player for the band, but now he's re-located "down south", so we're looking again! Our next concerts are October 21st in Harrogate and December 19th in Ilkley. We have a break over the summer, so could do with confirming the line-up asap. Get in touch!!

Yorkshire Wind Orchestra - Trumpets required

The Yorkshire Wind Orchestra (MD Kieron Anderson) is seeking to appoint at least one regular trumpet player, as well as to build up our list of "deps". We rehearse on alternate Mondays in term-time in Wakefield and play about half a dozen high quality concerts per year. The playing standard is...
