If you're so sure that another venue inside the areas covered by the WMBBA (which incidentally covers Worcestershire, in which the town of Pershore is situated) could be found, you no doubt will be able to give plenty of suggestions then?
With moving the contest to Worcestershire area it is not The West Midlands Contest anymore.
O by the way i see you are from Worcestershire area so no doubt you are well pleased with it moving then:rolleyes:
As a previous post as been said with the number of High Schools etc in the West
Midlands area im sure a suitable venue could have been easily found.
I just hope that the bands will support the contest from Leicester,Nottingham etc and surrounding area's who have been coming for a number of years;)

For the above posts and to others who weren't there to hear the comments made on the day....

I understand people feeling a loss - I have only ever known the contest to be held at that venue and will be sorry not to attend there next year.
However, I am glad that the contest will continue and hope a lot of bands support it next year.

Di - more concerning is that it will need a Wetherspoons ;););)
But ultimately your right, we should be glad it is continuing!

As already pointed out to you, if you want to be like that it's not been the West Midlands Contest for the best part of 30 years.

Yes, the band I play with is based in Worcestershire, but seeing as I live 5 minutes from the Spa Centre, it's not an ideal change of location.

In fact it will lead to a lot more travelling overall for the committee and helpers on the day than Leamington did as a venue.

As a previous post as been said with the number of High Schools etc in the West

So you're still hypothesising rather than providing options - can't say that comes as a big shock. I presume you know from experience that it's easy to find venues then, and can you perhaps give us some tips, because from our experience it's far from easy.

I just hope that the bands will support the contest from Leicester,Nottingham etc and surrounding area's who have been coming for a number of years;-)

So do we, and in an ideal world we wouldn't be moving, but we don't live in an ideal world unfortunately.

Now doing without a spoons is a serious matter. Should I start a new thread??!
Was good to see you, you cheeky *insert word here*

also, congrats to Rushden and Blidworth - particularly Jane 'booby' Nicholls and Andy Baldwin for their solo prizes :-D

Ok then lets see you come up with a venue for a contest:rolleyes:

I am one of the people who already has - it's called Pershore High School

I was asking you since in your infinite wisdom you've told us that it's easy to find a venue, so you must have a list as long as your arm that we as a committee would love to have so we can see if these venues are as suitable or more suitable as a venue.
