Matthew Hall's 'Nightingale Dances', winner of the Best New Composition or Arrangement at Brass in Concert 2011 is now available to purchase.

The sleeve note on the premiere recording of the piece by Tredegar Town Band on their latest cd 'Tredegar in Concert vol. 1' reads:

"Matthew Hall's kaleidoscopic collage of intertwined dances is inspired by the famous 1940 ballad, 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square', and won him his second successive 'Best Composition' prize at the prestigious Brass in Concert Championships in 2011. We move from a sensuous opening featuring a choir of flugels, tenor horns and trombones, through a sultry Habanera and a brisk Paso-Doble to conclude with a roof-raising Hollywood blockbuster finale."
