Thinking of Whit Friday

Reddish band are a 4th section band, we are looking for players to join the band with a view to playing at Whit Friday on 1st June. Also if your band isnt taking part in Whit Friday this year and your looking for a band to go out with, please feel free to drop our secretary Elaine Bardsley a line on elainecoops@yahoo.co.uk.

Dont know what march we are playing yet. We only have 8 players at the moment so plenty of scope for preference of what part you want to play, open to players from all sections.

Have you tried approaching Stockport Music service to see if they've any youngsters who are interested? They'll get the afternoon off school and might get he taste to carry on playing for you, giving a base that can only develop. Pick an easy piece (Slaidburn? The Chieftain?), let them enjoy the day, and hopefully you'll see the numbers in your band increase.

It has been decided that Reddish Brass Band are not playing at Whit Friday. Thanks to those players who did offer to join us, and hope that you are able to find bands to play with.
