    Entertainment contests

    CAn anyone point me towards some decent entertainment contests this year, I'm struggling to find any for our band to take part in, We are based in South Yorkshire

    There is the North East Midlands Ents contest in July (16th?) quite near to you i think...

    This would be 'Celebration Brass' at Rufford Abbey, Rufford Country Park, Notts (map) on Sunday 16th July.

    It is open to bands in 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Sections.

    Each band will perform a 25 minute concert including a solo item.

    It amy be a bit far, but the US Open by Chicago O'Hare airport is nice.

    NEMBBA also organise an enterainments contest for all bands excluding Championship at the Dukeries Garden Centre at Welbeck Estates. Usually in June/July with bands like Strabrass, Carlton, Whitewell, Bestwood, Thurcroft taking part.

    This year it's earlier than normal on Sunday, 17th of September, it has recently fallen the weekend after the lower section finals but this year is the weekend before them.

    Hi Fran that one has been moved to Rufford Park this year and it is on the 16th Of July.

    No because of the fact no one ever entered the contest that one has been discontinued. Shame really very nice venue but the entry was always very poor.
