less than a week to go. the band is sounding good, just settling nicely with new players and new MD - as well all know these things don't happen overnight.

Just started knuckling down to the piece this last week. Should be in an interesting section in the 1st section and for once a good strong competition as opposed to having a few strong bands and ther est.

Co-op will be putting our best show on, and we go in the knoweldge we will be a few players short on the stage, all due to work reasons and it's hard enough finding players full stop these days, so having to find more to replace the ones who can't get there 'cos of work is just ridiculous and there's know point monopolising the market and having extra players signed just for one contest when so many bands are struggling - that's greedy.

So this banding thing is about teamwork and this is what we shall be employing to put on our performance.

Best of luck to all bands, especially those in the 1 st section, may the best performances (note performances and not necessarily bands!!) win!!

Yes me too, my good man!

Certainly the most interesting 2'nd section piece I have ever played. Beats most first section pieces as a test and for enjoyment in my opinion

just hours to go, can't wait to get it done, certainly the trombone parts were not challenging this year in vod but the challenge is most certainly there for the valve instruments in the band and it will be interesting to see how all the bands feature this time, certainly should seperate the men and women from the boys and girls for this years 1st section.

if im honest i think i'll try and listen to a number of bands in all sections this year due to the pieces being good to listen to, apart from the 2nd section piece IOTM, from having heard all the 5 pieces in a concert recently, i really liked JTTCOTE, VOD should be good to listen to, more fun to listen to than to play for the 2nd trom players anyway lol, E should be good to listen to if it can be played at a good standard, otherwise it may sound a bit messy with the 1st and 3rd movements including some tough technical playing for that level of bands, and AD should be very listenable as most bands should tackle it and it has some nice music moments in it, if maybe a touch long.

infact does anyone think that all the pieces are a pretty lengthy this year?, should work out ok though with the number of bands, over 60 bands in yorkshire taking part this time, sounds good to me!

good luck to all bands and see you in the bar!

We play tomorrow! Hope we get drawn No.1 then we don't have to listen to any band playing before us! lol If any of the 'top' bands are on stage playing while we are waiting, it might unsettle the younger/inexperienced members of the band.

I hope to get on early draw tomorrow too, just wanna get it over and done with! Our MD wants a late draw tho for some reason?!

The longer it goes on then the nerves start affecting me.. as is what happened @ Preston.

Spirits are high tho and we're all looking 4ward to it. See you in the pub after!
