As of tonight, the following amendments (in green) have been made to the tMP Rules & Guidelines:
We have noticed for a long time that there are a minority who use smilies offered by other sites. We have been made aware that some of these sites install malicious spyware on the machines of its users, and therefore we feel that we cannot condone the use of these sites. Some of you may feel we're being over-sensitive here, but we believe that there are more than enough smilies on offer here at tMP. Please also refrain from the excessive use of these smilies within posts - as we believe that they can distract from the post itself, and in some extreme cases, even distract from the whole thread. A few of these used within a thread can be very beneficial and helpful in getting one's point across, but when the post contains dozens of them, then the point will no doubt be lost!2. Content: Please do not post topics or replies or PM's containing:(l) Only the smilies/emoticons supplied by tMP can be used - this is to safeguard against the malicious spyware that some smilie sites use.4. Bad Language: Please do not use bad language or make needless, incessant usage of:(a) Emoticons
(b) the "quote" function
(c) Line breaks or ALL-CAPS
(d) Swearing or derogatory terms
(e) "txt" Speak - which is very hard to read and quite frustrating
(f) Smilies
Also, we have become aware that were was some conflict between a couple of our categories here on tMP - namely 'The tMP Band Shop' and 'Classified Ads' - both of these appeared to serve the same purpose, and so have been merged, and only the 'Classified Ads' category is now in operation.
May we also take this opportunity to remind you of the rules for posting within 'Classified Ads':
If, however, you feel you need to increase your advertising exposure, then tMP Sponsors can post indefinitely in the 'Professional Trade Stand' category for the duration of their agreed sponsorship of the site. If you have a requirement for your band to advertise further within any month, please contact one of the tMP team.
