Despite having a few months out of the public eye, aside from playing at a memorial concert for Timothy Patonís late mother who was an influential figure in the local music scene, Weston Brass has been busy behind closed doors, rehearsing and proof-reading new and exciting music courtesy of two of the bandís own arrangers, Peter Nutt and John Bryant.

The band, which boasts a fine selection of ex-RAF musicians and a friendly and enthusiastic team of players, has been rehearsing the latest arrangements which include a new euphonium solo by Peter Nutt, which is his own version of Tchaikovskyís Pique Dame and several movements from Verdiís Requiem arranged by John Bryant.

Next up for the band is a possible appearance at the SWBBA contest in Torquay next month, followed by its annual Christmas concert on 17 December in Westonís Winter Gardens.
